Software Engineer at K2 Business Software, Bellevue, WA  (11/2013 - 10/2015)

Responsibilities include developing the contols of K2 Smartforms, a program used to assist business administrators with management and automation of business workflows. Development is accomplished across the full stack: html, css and javascript are used to build the user interface and front-end functionality; C# and SQL are used to build back end services.

Responsibilities included developing RillAdventures.com and RillFoods.com, maintaining and delivering gear, guiding whitewater rafting and kayaking trips, and working with customers to plan and facilitate custom adventure trips.

Assistant Tool Builder at A&M Precision Measuring, Tukwilla, WA  (1/2013 - 3/2013)

Aircraft manufacturing jigs were built and installed according to spec +/-0.005in using a combination of hand tools, power tools and a precision-laser-measuring device.

Fleet Associate at Zipcar, Inc, Seattle, WA  (5/2012 - 12/2012)

Vehicles were transported to maintenance facilities, minor issues were resolved onsite, and diagnoses of issues requiring more advanced means of resolution were communicated to the fleet coordinator. Logistical and adaptive scheduling skills were honed through the need to plan out the most efficient route each morning and adapt the route as new issues and delays arose.

Outdoor Adventure Guide at Adventures Cross-Country, Mill Valley, CA  (6/2010 - 8/2010)

Facilitated two 2-week trips to the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai. The first trip was for a co-ed group of middle-school-aged kids, and the second was for high-school-aged kids. Activities included team-building, hiking, surfing, canoeing, snorkeling, taro harvesting and wind-surfing. Duties included handling travel logistics, transportation, people management, financial record-keeping, and handling emergency situations.

Mobile Adoptions Representative at Seattle Humane Society, Seattle, WA  (5/2009 - 8/2009)

Responsibilities of mobile adoptions unit (33’ vehicle) included preparation of animals for adoption, presentation of educational material, customer service in public environments, and transportation of vehicle laden with animals to a variety of busy public locations throughout the greater Seattle area.

Research Assistant at U of R Biology Department, Redlands, CA  (4/2009 - 4/2010)

With the guidance of Dr Daniel Wacks, an investigation was conducted regarding the biochemical relationship between nitrogen-fixing bacteria and the legume plants that host them. Research provided experience with bacteriological methods including sterile technique, nutritional media, and spectrophotometric growth analysis.

Educational Tutor at U of R Education Department, Redlands, CA  (3/2009 - 5/2010)

Facilitated two-hour study sessions twice a week, providing help with homework and organization at a group home for six high school aged boys.

Founder and Mechanic at U of R Bike Co-Op, Redlands, CA  (9/2007 - 5/2008)

Using unclaimed bicycles that collected in front of the Campus Safety office, a fleet of 30+ bikes, after being cleaned, rebuilt and painted, were made available for student use for up to 7 days at a time. The shop also provided maintenance and repairs for students' personal bicycles. The project was founded with and managed by the Outdoor Programs Coordinator Andrea Gordon and provided experience with program development, marketing, bicycle mechanics, and customer service.

Outdoor Adventure Guide at YD Adventures, Canby, OR  (May-Aug, '07 & '08)

Facilitated groups through activities that included whitewater rafting, inflatable kayaking, rock climbing, high and low ropes challenge courses, and overnight tent-camping. Whitewater trips were located on the Deschutes, the McKenzie, the Clackamas, and the North Santiam rivers. Trips lengths varied between 6 hours and 5 days.

Trip Leader at U of R Outdoor Programs, Redlands, CA  (4/2007 - 5/2010)

Guided a variety of outdoor trips around southern California, ranging from one to seven days. Responsibilities included establishing itineraries, planning meals, acquiring funding, transportation of participants and handling emergency situations.

Engaged elementary to high school aged boys in weekly physical activities and provided emotional and educational assistance to improve their ability to succeed as young adults without available parents.
